Communications

During our scheduled Vessel Safety Patrols our Communications Center is manned with trained communications watchstanders who monitor Channel 16 for boaters in distress.

This facility also serves as a hub for a communications network of over a dozen fixed and mobile radio stations.  During emergencies, when wires and cellular towers may be knocked out of commission, our radio network is available to help the Coast Guard and other authorities deal with the emergency at hand.
